Lag Alleviation

In preparation for tonight's update, here is a new thread to chat in.

Dear TLC,

There's a lot of angst flying around in comments regarding spoilers. In keeping synchronized with out parent blog, The Lost Community, we are going to try to play the game and stay spoiler free. Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion about the spoilers. Perhaps a better way to voice your opinion about it would be to email other sources directly rather than have heated discussions in comments.

We welcome clues from other places at anytime, but please do not post comments that are potential spoilers or come from any methods, such as decompiled flash or chats, that are not game related. If you find information from other methods that you really think are "in game" please send an email to oceanicconspiracies@gmail.com.

We value each and every member of our community, as well as your opinions. Our goal is to keep this blog game related and fun!

Sincerely,
Your Oceanic-Conspiracies Blogger Team

Right, I'm off to get food. See you all later.

maven said...

LOL, Fenris! What a mess, though. Now, how can we relate this to LOST or finding 815?

Ange said...

Thank-you Maven and Eugene.. Its hard to make everyone happy but we can at least try to keep it fun. We worked hard to word that just so and we appreciate everything that our community has to offer!

Comments deleted due to the horrible spelling.

The gist was that I appreciate the generally friendly atmosphere on this blog.

Carol Dunstan said...

Is it wrong that I was amused by that Fenris? Who wins though, you with the woodpile (what a shame it isn't Nov and Guy Fawkes) or me with the Pasha Bulker?

Hopefully I'll be on line when today's action goes down, but with any luck I'll be setting myself up on a brand new computer desk

ular97 said...

Ahha...Carol found time to order that desk after all!

Twinkle said...

Thanks for sharing the news link, Fenris. Sometimes I'm just thinking in type and you all are like voices in my head. Other times it hits me that real people, funny and friendly from across the *world,* are communicating with me and I can't get over how cool that is! (Can you tell I loved social studies?) I want to drop all this silly ARG stuff and find out what life is like where you are. Obviously, one thing we have in common is the computer. :-D

/*end embarrassing gushing*/

So how much wood did you snag, Fenris?

TakesaVillage said...

That is enough wood to build another Black Rock.
Fenris, I hope that your home wasn't damaged in the storm.

Scoutpost said...

All that wood is amazing! I agree Twinkle- it's stuff like this that makes you realize how "real" we all are!!

Ok, so life has happened this past week, and I have been terribly behind in the game. I don't know how to open that Openstego thing- and haven't had time to even think about a password...but hopefully I'll be able to keep tagging along behind you guys!

Thanks you guys for all the honest, friendly, spoiler free work on this site!

memphish said...

Thanks for the new post. I'm glad the ARG, unlike death, doesn't take a holiday. But if it did, I guess it would go to Bali.

Twinkle said...

OT OT OT - Thanks, Scout. So what's new with you? (Just to digress a little. Anyone, feel free to answer.)

We're doing a house renovation/reorganization that's kicking my butt. Am learning to how be in transition. If you want to learn patience and endurance, I'd recommend it. We're also raising Triops (crustaceans that haven't changed from the time of the dinosaurs) and are still enjoying our pet rats. Balloon fairy turns three on Saturday!

About the password, if Ampere who dropped the idea at Dark UFO that the password would be in the video was not in-game - and Dark says we have no way to tell if he was - then there's no password to find or figure out yet. Unless Dark verified Ampere and I missed it?

DarkUFO said...

Hi Twinkle,

My source is remaining tight-lipped on the password etc. We're in the dark on that as well I'm afraid.

oodles said...

Hi guys,
was an ol' TLE'er but completely missed this thing til last night. Have been reading through the first 3 chapters. Weird thing is: at www.find815.com I get nothing but a black screen. Have tried a few times over the past 24 hrs but it's always the same, loading something but then only a black video screen. And before you ask, yes, I have the latest Flashplayer. It's the same in both IE and Firefox. Any, umh, clues?

A thought on that braille stuff:
* FJI is the ICAO code for Air Pacific
* FJI is sometimes used as a code for Fiji

dxi has something to do with audio formats, as does qdx.

Perhaps there is something else hidden in the audio?

Or could the "...i had fji" bit mean something?

Twinkle said...

Thanks for the confirmation, Dark. Let's hope tonight moves us forward on this.

DarkUFO said...

I'm hoping so to :)

maven said...

Oodles: Welcome to the OC! It was easy to catch up, huh? Now we're all stuck on that darn password. LOL

Everyone, from time to time has had a problem logging into Find815. Sorry I don't have any clues about this, but just letting you know you're not the only one.

I did see something about FJI being airport code. And that DXI had to do with planes. I don't know where this would lead us...yet.

ular97 said...

Oodles, did you go down to the lower part of the page to see if you could get the login section?

ular97 said...

Not much on tv tonight, as usual, guess I will watch the Ghost Hunter marathon. They are all rerun so I don't have to concentrate on them, and I can do the game in a couple hours.

Patch said...

Fenris, I laughed out loud at the couple sitting on chairs watching the wood! :)

I guess everyone is as anxious as me to resolve the mystery of the password in a couple of hours when Sam checks in.

Patch said...

Hi oodles! Great to see you again. :)

Fenris said...

I considered taking some wood when I saw it all last night. But then I realized I had absolutely no use for it. Lol.

Carol Dunstan said...

not even for a speculative trip to Bali or Fiji? Maybe Sri Lanka?

Ange said...

Fenris, you could use the wood to build a shelf for all of your cardboard boxes ;). Or a raft for Sam. OR a submarine that won't be effected by magnetism even.

ular97 said...

I drool at the thought of going back to Bali or Fiji. Fiji is my favorite place of all the places I have been. I would love to live there.

ular97 said...

Ange, I vote Fenris build a huge raft and take us all on a cruise to some ""unknown remote island" but with a 5 star resort on it!

Carol Dunstan said...

that should be "not even to build a boat for..."

Fenris said...

Actually I'm half expecting Sam to turn up on me beach looking for 815. "Wrong shipwreck dude".

oodles said...

@ular97
Yep, scrolled right down. Nothing. Just black screen which right click reveals to be Flash. Weird.

FYSB said...

Will there be snacks served on the HMS Fenris? I hear that Dharma Food Services does a terrific buffet.

New avatar alert, I figure we could use a little help with this crazy password.

jess4ua said...

ular97- You are making me jealous!

Fenris- LOL!

ular97 said...

Sorry, jess4. That was past times, now I am in foggy, dreary, San Antonio, TX.

Twinkle said...

Fenris! LSHFBEFMN!

I'm looking for a new way of organizing all our homeschool stuff. So you'd recommend cardboard boxes reinforced with driftwood, Fenris? Hmm...I could probably do that if I weren't so busy puzzling over this game.

About moving forward tonight, I kind of doubt we'll get the password. I hope I'm surprised though. It seems more likely the password will be revealed later in the week just before Sam needs it. Tonight I expect Sam to discover the morse code and/or steg file. I figure he's got to know a password is necessary before we get info on it. But then maybe I'm wrong and things will speed up....

ular97 said...

Shall we do a count down to keep us awake...41 min. until Sam continues with his life

ular97 said...

twinkle, wouldn't it be nice if Sam would just catch up with us and the rest of the world. Waiting on him to wake up and smell the coffee gets boring.

Twinkle said...

Or maybe things will be slower than I hope and all we'll be doing is hacking the plotter so Sam can find the coordinates? If so, with any luck, he'll also pull up some info from the survey or Widmore or Talbot about what makes those coordinates significant.

ib4uc said...

oodles... try clearing your cache or deleting your cookies. That worked for me.

Twinkle said...

Well, like I always say, Lost is known for being more painful in pace than being tortured by having your fingernails pulled out. The pace in the ARG is what, 36 or so Sam hours for every 1 real week?

Twinkle said...

Actually for Lost, that's a pretty fast clip.

Joseph Finchum said...

Oodles,

I am a mac user so I don't know if this will mean anything to you or not.

When I load up Find815 it usually takes a minute or two to get through to the video loading.
Try going to it and letting it sit uninterupted for 2 minutes, if the find815 logo thing does not start up for you, then I have no idea. this happens more for me with safari than with Firefox. This game has been wierd from the start I know people who are both Mac and PC and most of us have to use multiple browsers to do everything.
I have also seen everything work flawlessly with Opera so you might want to try that if you can get it somewhere.

memphish said...

I'm sitting here waiting for Sam's life to resume as ular97 said and just noticed my husband has a patient named Charles Pace. Strange, huh?

TakesaVillage said...

Oodles,
A friend of mine used another computer, said he thought his security was set too high.ib4uc is right, clearing your cache seems to help.Plus there is a lot to load, give it a few minutes without doing anything.
It must be frustrating.

ular97 said...

Hmmmmm, that is strange since you are a dedicated Lost fan (addict) lol

ular97 said...

I got the black screen when the chapter 2 first started. I think I just shut down and rebooted and it the page came up okay. I have not had a problem since then.

maven said...

Yea! I hurried through dinner and got back with 12 minutes to spare!

Sure hope we have to do more tonight for the password to be complete. Most likely we'll be plotting coordinates on Talbot's chart. :(

FYSB: Hope your psychic helps us out tonight! LOL

memphish said...

I never bothered to download OpenStego, so I'm counting on those of you who did should we get a password. Hope you're ready.

maven said...

Fenris: I was telling hubby over dinner about all that wood washing up and he said he saw it on CNN!

Hope Walt doesn't come along and burn up your raft! LOL

maven said...

Who here does have OpenStego downloaded and working? Like Memphish, I never did it either.

ular97 said...

I didn't down load it either, I am not sure I would know what to do with it or how to download it. I am at everyone else mercy.

Patch said...

Ok, I'm back from the supermarket and ready to roll! :)

jess4ua said...

I have openstego :)

maven said...

Yea, Jess! You might be very busy tonight! LOL

oodles said...

@maven, I have it open, tried a load of passwords to no avail, like everyone else. Problem is, it's 2 a.m. where I live and I got to go to sleep. But I'm sure there are others?

@all
Thanks for your hints re the find815 webpage. Had a full shutdown and a restart and cache clearance as well (for unrelated reasons) but that hasn't helped either. Ah well...
Might see you guys tomorrow.

maven said...

Okay, this reminds me of the game mastermind! I timed out already!

Twinkle said...

It's Mastermind! Loved that game!

ular97 said...

I am wayyyyy to slow. Need to take down the letters and try sorting into something logical before I type anything in I guess

Patch said...

But since the password changes each time you mess up I have a feeling this isn't our openstego password.

jess4ua said...

I am not sure I get the rules of this game...anyone care to explain?

lost2010 said...

Ange said...

Could those with passwords e-mail them please THANKS!

Twinkle said...

Got it! It took a while to get back in the mindset.

Care to share your strategy tips, anyone? Personally, I take five of the characters, usually sequential ones, and plug them in. Then I change only the last one to see if my "score" changes. Once I've got a good idea what that one is, I try the others systematically one at a time, keeping everything else the same. But if I don't get two or three right to start with, that takes too long. Good thing we get to try again.

ib4uc said...

OMG... I finally got it!

Patch said...

lost10-thank you. I was avoiding doing that! Duh!

Aimless22 said...

Bummer dudes, I can't even remember what mine was!

It was a bit hit and miss though, even when you get a red spot, it seemed to change. I managed to get white spots and then jumbled them a couple of times till I stumbled on the right sequence.

Hope that is of some help.

Amo

Twinkle said...

Sorry, Ange. It doesn't work that way. Like the first game, each time through is unique. So no one's solution will work for anyone else.

Twinkle said...

(Meaning the first chapter's game was like this too.)

theendtimesmeter said...

What comes after the game, I won and I saw the video, anyone have anything else?

I also noticed that My Progress hasnt been updated. Whats up with that?

Ange said...

I know twinkle, I would like to compile a list of each one as they are different. There are only 8 possibilities says the instructions.

Twinkle said...

And it took me once through to remember which color meant what.

espiao said...

I won it too...It´s the same coordinates

Twinkle said...

Right, except that I had a different set of 8 characters each time. So the first time the characters might be 5638QUFG and then each other time my set of 8 was totally different. :-( Sorry.

ular97 said...

I have a hunch I will be on this one when the season 4 is at it's finale episode. lol

Twinkle said...

TETM: Some people have reported that happening, it not updating their my progress. I think they reloaded the page to see if it would update or else they had to do the activity again. I haven't found anything else yet either and the chapter 4 chart shows nothing else released. We'll probably get some e-mails and maybe a website tomorrow.

FYSB said...

Put 5 in a row in. Then shift over and put 5 more in. See the difference in your score. Make a note of what was similar. It took a few tries to get the hang of it.

The video is not too revealing, just a building of tension between my boyfriend Talbot and Sam. No passwords were blatantly given.

Erin said...

I haven't played mastermind in years :D

I must admit, I quite like the fact that you have to just do it for yourself and can't look up the answer anywhere (yet?); I often can't get to the game portions when they're first released and get frustrated when looking at myriad 815-related blogs also means ruining the gameplay aspects.

Eugene said...

So, for the openstego password I have now tried Junos, polar bear, metrix, metrix.exe...all to no avail. Any other suggestions?

ib4uc said...

ange... email is on it's way. Hope it works for someone else!

lost2010 said...

It was a fun way to find a password though after all the endless beating my head against the wall over the weekend. I think I'll plug mine into openstego just to see - can't hurt.

Erin said...

Strategy: when entering your password line, you don't have to fill in all five boxes; it's a good way if you're a bit gung-ho of ascertaining if a particular digit or letter is in the right place.

theendtimesmeter said...

TWINKLE -

I did that and it worked. How long will we have to wait for the activities and emails and videos?

I know you dont know, but you think they'd have this stuff moving pretty fast?

FYSB said...

Maybe this is clearer...if the code options are ABCDEFG, put in ABCDE. See what your score is. Then do BCDEF. Compare the two. See what happened to your score. Then do CDEFG. By this point you should have a pretty good idea of the 5 in play. It's best to switch out one variable at a time, so you can eliminate the non-working ones easily.

Twinkle said...

Here's a strategy posted by someone on DarkUFO. Thought some might be interested. Thanks, J Mark Pim.

My solution is to break the 8 possiblities into pairs and test them in turn, but in different positions. So if you had, say, ABCD1234 try:
AB---, -CD--, --12-, ---34.

For each pair, if you get either 0 or 2 lights (of either colour) you know either both are or are not in the password so move on immediately. If you only get one light, use the next row to try just one character to find out which one it is.

That takes at most 7 turns leaving you 3 to figure out the positions which should be fairly easy as you'll almost certainly have got some reds along the way already.

ular97 said...

yipeeee...I got it! That is all there is? We waited on pins and needles all weekend for a little tidbit to tease us with?

Patch said...

Yay! Finally I did it. *lol*

Twinkle said...

Pharm: Yes! That's a great thing about this game versus Mastermind. You don't have to enter all 5 characters but can check 1, or 2, or 3. I wish I'd known that before! Thanks!

Carol Dunstan said...

oh wow, I got onto the game a bit later than everyone else so maybe my numbers didn't scramble as much? I got it in four goes.

BTW, my delay was not computer desk related. Majorly frelled off about that. Anyway, it was lunch time here and I had to feed the girls.

My blow by blow vocals were oooh (opening video - Sam was rather game to try it out with such a small window of opportunity), woohoo! when I got the game password, oooh, ohhh and another ooh with the post-password video. I didn't noted down my password because I thought it would be the same for everyone and someone else would have done it. I got two red dots first time through, but my first character never changed and only the position changed for the others.

lost2010 said...

Well, I didn't think it would, but the chartplotter password didn't open the stegosaurus.

Patch said...

Look out Sam! Take care.

jess4ua said...

Okay, Thanks guys I got it

FYSB said...

By the way, Fenris, you were totally right, today WAS the hack of the chart plotter. Of all the things not to pack in Sam's bag, a Garmin Nuvi. Go figure.

Erin said...

Also, all those moody glances and strained silences, perhaps Talbot has a crush on Sam? The plot thickens... ;)

Carol Dunstan said...

also, my chapter 4 progress page won't display

theendtimesmeter said...

carol, logout and re login

FYSB said...

They HAVE been a long time at sea, Pharm. Just sayin.

ular97 said...

Garmin! That is what I got hubby for Christmas, for his vehicle. He is perpetually "lost". I have more fun playing with it, going the wrong way so it will remap another way to get me on track again. lol The lady's voice gets a little unnerving though.

maven said...

Finally!!!!!

No progress shown. Doesn't even show Chapter 4 stuff! Nothing happened after I got it.

Patch said...

Mine won't either Carol. I really don't want to have to do that again!

ular97 said...

*****HEY EVERYONE WITHOUT CHAPTER FOUR PROGRESS! LOGOUT AND RE-LOGIN! ****

ular97 said...

FYSB said...

ular, i gave mine the australian woman's voice - karen- i think it's hilarious to go off track to hear her say "recalculating" in an accent.

Patch said...

I tried logging out and in again, but there's still no progress shown.

maven said...

Okay, okay, theendtimesmeter! I logged and re-logged in and My Progress has opened Chapter 4 with the activity greened out! Thank you! But what is supposed to happen after you do the plotting? I never got another video.

Twinkle said...

So I want to watch the video again and I'd have to do the game again to see it.

Working from memory, I wonder why Talbot would tell Sam to steer clear of the location at the coordinates. That's pretty silly since it's Talbot who controls where the boat goes. And what does he mean, "You won't find what you're looking for there." Is he trying to dissuade Sam from looking or is he using reverse psychology? The man obviously hasn't watched enough TV if he thinks that will do anything but make Sam definitely want to find out what's there.

Patch said...

Ok, I closed the find815 window and reloaded it, and now my progress is showing. Phew!

jess4ua said...

theendtimesemeter- No need to shout. LOL! And I tried that and I still have no chapter 4 progress. I think the site sometimes glitches differently for each user.

Patch said...

Do you think Oscar was surprised that Maxwell had sent Sam on this trip?

Twinkle said...

There's a scene between Sam and Talbot. DarkUFO should have it up soon so we don't have to go through the game to get it.

theendtimesmeter said...

Patch said...

Jess, try closing the site and re-loading it. That worked for me.

Erin said...

Perhaps the coordinates are the source of the electrical disturbances. Or maybe Talbot just doesn't like other people playing with his toys.

maven said...

Thanks, twinkle. I just checked there and they seem to find tonight's activity difficult, too!

Carol Dunstan said...

ok, I just refreshed and it's working now. Phew, I doubt I'd get the password in 4 tries next time!

Patch said...

Maven, you didn't get the end video? That's not fair!

lost2010 said...

Well, it looks like we'll get 6 e-mails this chapter so maybe Tracey will finally remember to send us that password. Only 1 message though, wonder if it's mum?

maven said...

I know, Patch. I was so proud of myself for finally getting it...and nothing...no reward! LOL

Carol Dunstan said...

Dark UFO already have the vid (hack before the chapter started

youtube link to video

Twinkle said...

Yep. :-D They haven't gotten it yet and had a slow start with solving the activity. It isn't fair that you didn't get the end video and you shouldn't have to go through the game again to see it. If I know Lost fans though they'll have it uploaded within the hour on Dark. We're a persistent and detailed bunch.

FYSB said...

*******Possible Video Spoiler,
***************
If you're still playing Mastermind, don't read this yet....Ange/Jess/Fen, let me know if I should delete..
******************
Here are my notes from the video...
Ockham and Sam are in front of the equipment. Ockham asks what the problem was, Sam said (something like) a loose cable. Ockham sends him to bed, but says he's on call 24.7. Leaving the bridge (?) he encounters Talbot who says he wasn't telling the truth, the chart plotter wasn't broken. Sam says Yes it was I just fixed it. Talbot pulls out Sam's paper with the coordinates and asks why he had them. Sam claims they are lottery numbers. Talbot tells him he has no idea what he's involved in or who he's dealing with. Sam trumps him with "the Maxwell group gave me the coordinates...Your employer" Talbot responds with "like I said you don't know who you're dealing with , stay away, you won't find what you're looking for."
Hopefully someone will come up with more detail, but for now, here ya go.

Twinkle said...

Well there you go. I hope the next thing we get is an e-mail from Sam to Tracey saying, "What in the world was that site you sent me? And what does a stegosaurus have to do with anything?"

thewonderllama said...

hey guys, long time lurker (back in the tlec days), first time poster. i see a few mastermind strategies have already been posted, but i figured i'd throw another into the mix. say the options are A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H:
first try: AAAAA. however many red pegs you get is how many A's are in it. next, start with however many A's are in it followed by all B's. however many new pegs you get is how many B's. next add the C's and so on until you have five pegs. at this point, you should see when you got red versus white pegs and it should give a clue to the ordering. play with it a little and you should get it.

Carol Dunstan said...

I think Sam is being a bit of a goose actually. Just because the Maxwell Group web address was in the email he's thinking the company as a whole sent him??? I really don't think he should have shown his hand to Talbot. That Talbot told him to stay away from those coordinates tells me he knows something about them. And when he tells Sam that he won't find what he's looking for there, does he mean Sam won't find Sonya alive? He won't find the real 815? I'm rather keen for the next bit now!

Tess315 said...

Well I hope I can finish the game without getting this activity completed because there is no way I can do it.

maven said...

I actually did the activity again...solved it the first time (I'm such a pro now), and got the video.

Carol Dunstan said...

wah??? found where? When? who by? What's it reveal!!!

jess4ua said...

Eugene- where did the password come from?

maven said...

I think that video implies that we're going to the island and not the freckage! And Sam won't find Sonya there. Also, Sam should have said someone sent me these within the Maxwell Group. The Maxwell Group didn't send the info to him.

maven said...

WHAT????? Did you try it, Jess?

Erin said...

Also, Talbot is linked to the Maxwell Group but doesn't necessarily work for them - after all, the Maxwell Group documents came from a briefcase with someone else's initials on it. I think it's a fair call that Sam 'doesn't know who he's dealing with.'

Carol Dunstan said...

if that is the password, it comes from the braille and is exactly what I was saying... it'd be a mix of the letters/numbers that the braille gave, it was just a matter of someone systematically going through and trying all the possibilites (one change at a time). The only thing is there is an X at the start instead of "with"

jess4ua said...

Okay, I am not even looking at the password until I know it is not a spoiler. I need an explanation on this one.

maven said...

Was it just trial and error?

Eugene said...

If you folks consider the PW spoiler I will not post here. Vanessa on Dark's find815 chat room made a suggestion that lead to the answer. I think they are putting up a post so you can check there. Sorry if I wrecked it for anyone.

Eugene said...

It's definitely not a show spoiler.

Apparently there was a series of up and down arrows and the # sign on the video that would indicate whether or not the Braille was upper or lower case, etc.

If the above is considered spoilery...I'm sorry.

I'll leave the translation to better people than me.

Can we get clarification on how the password was found? Sorry Eugene, please take no offense, but spoilers abound. Lots of us avoid them.

oh yay, binary! Back to the good old days.

So, is it worth getting OpenStego now and getting that binary myself to put through a translator or just wait to see if this does all pan out to be not entirely in game? I'm still feeling a bit sceptical

FYSB: Dark just posted how it was found with more details to follow. Like I said above, it had to do with the up and down arrows and # signs indicating which way the Braille went.

Carol Dunstan said...

which video maven? Sam's one from Friday? That still doesn't explain to me how they got an X with that first Braille symbol

The password was found by combining the arrows and # signs in tonight's video with the braille - an up arrow for an uppercase letter, down for lower, # for numeral.

See here for the arrows.

You can't even complete this activity systematically!

FYSB - no offense taken. I steer clear of any that relate to the actual show myself. And I try not to jump ahead in the game. OMF posted on Dark in the comments not in the chat room. The post was "Braille AOE". Google it and it takes you to dafont.com.

At the end of the video after successful completion of the game a series of arrows and # signs came up. Vanessa was able to determine that (I think I have this right) that the up arrows meant uppercase and the down arrows ment uppercase and that # menat use the Braille corresponding number for that position. So with DXIhadfji became X4x98adf09.

Clear as mud, huh. Sorry my explanation is not better.

Man I didn't even notice those arrows or number signs...and I thought I was being observant with the polar bear pic!!

But yeah, how did they get the X?

Ange said...

Eugene: could you please send us an e-mail and tell us how you got that password. THANKS!

And...New Post!

maven said...

There's a screen grab of the arrows and #. I think it was right before a video, not on a video. I never saw it!

Aimless22 said...

....the polar bear pic that everyone else thinks is a dog!

FYSB said...

Thanks Maven. I'm avoiding Dark's site as many of us are, but I'm sure if you posted this it's legit and within the limits of the game, but I have huge concerns about anything else that comes out of there as being spoilerrific.

When you use that for the openstego pw a readme.txt file is extracted. It is binary. Before I could convert it someone else had and it converts to Walt Whitman's poem "When I heard the leern'd Astronomer". So lost-like. So now that we know that what are we suppsed to do? Or is the poem the reward? It's a great poem.

I feel your pain. I've never even heard of mastermind and I hate it.

Learn'd not Leern'd. Oy, my typing stinks.

The Poem:

WHEN I heard the learn’d astronomer;
When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me;
When I was shown the charts and the diagrams, to add, divide, and measure them;
When I, sitting, heard the astronomer, where he lectured with much applause in the lecture-room,
How soon, unaccountable, I became tired and sick;
Till rising and gliding out, I wander’d off by myself,
In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time,
Look’d up in perfect silence at the stars.

@sayid'sgirl - I'm just about to give up. If they really wanted people to play they wouldn't have chosen such a P.O.S activity.

Carol Dunstan said...

ok, we get a poem and it doesn't tell us to drink our Ovaltine. But I'm really not sure it's going to come into play with any other part of this game. If that's the case, I am disappointed. It was fun, but I'd like a little more result.

I'd still like to know how they got a capital x at the start of the password
